Confined Space Awareness Training

In accordance with the safety, health and welfare at work act 2005, employers are required to provide a safe place of work as reasonably practicable for all employees.This course will help attendees meet all standards required to work safely in confined spaces and participate in the emergency procedures from within a confined space. It will take them through progressive steps that will give them the confidence to work in confined spaces and prepare them may they have effect emergency procedures.

Employees who enter confined spaces, act as stand by or act as permit issuers during confined space entries.

  • Current legislation
  • Confined space hazards
  • Permits to work
  • Safe working procedures
  • Hygiene & personal protective equipment
  • Access equipment – tripods, winches, safety harnesses
  • Escape breathing apparatus – hoods & masks
  • Accident/emergency procedures & self rescue
  • Gas detection
